Where is your office?
Online, at the click of a button. You can be anywhere, just try to be somewhere without interruption. Come in your pajamas if you want; wish I could.
What are your hours?
8:30 AM – 3:30 PM. I know the work day sometimes doesn’t allow for this schedule, so if need be, I can do evening sessions, but only on a first-come, first-serve basis.
How long are your sessions?
Sessions can be as short as 30 minutes or up to an hour, depending on your needs.
How do I set up an appointment?
Just call to schedule.
What is your cancellation policy?
Time is important, so cancellations within a 24-hour notice will incur the full session fee. Cancellations before a 24-hour notice will not be charged.
What age range do you work with?
18 and up. I have kids of my own; can’t deal with other people’s children anymore, lol! I do work with men, women, and couples.
What does a session look like?
Depending on your needs, we can focus on the present issues or delve into your past to identify what is causing your current problems. While we work on challenging thought processes that no longer serve you, we’ll also joke around when appropriate, and I’ll call you out when needed.
Do your clients receive homework between sessions?
Yes, if you want to see progress in your emotional well-being, homework can help you do so faster.
Do you take notes?
Only in the first session because there will be a lot to go over. After that, no, so you’ll have my undivided attention.
Should I wear waterproof mascara?
It’s not a requirement, but it is a good idea to do so since therapy is a place where people tend to cry.
What’s your professional training and experience?
I received my Master’s in Social Work at NYU and worked with children in foster care and residential facilities. Afterward, I moved to community mental health, where I worked with people of all ages for many years.
What if my problems are too much for you to handle?
At this point, I’ve seen and heard it all. Not much can surprise me anymore. I can support you no matter what you’re going through.
If you could teleport to any one place for lunch where would it be and why?
Italy – if I’m going to have Italian food, I want the real thing.
What is your go-to way to unwind after a long day?
Veg out in front of the TV or read a mystery book.
Which special occasion do you look forward to each year?
The first day of school.
What’s one small thing in life that makes you ridiculously happy?
My kids’ sheepish grins.
